 About the Role
We are taking a fresh approach to recreational vehicle design, starting from zero and asking fundamental questions about how a travel trailer should be built in the modern electric age.  We will count on you and your team to apply creative thinking alongside engineering rigor and industry best practices towards the creation of an efficient, safe, manufacturable vehicle designed to stand the test of time. Responsibilites
  • Research relevant industry standards and best-practices and carry out analysis to determine key competitor benchmark information.
  • Create and maintain a CAD packaging study model to represent key packaging constraints and prerequisites.
  • Coordinate with the engineering and design teams to review and assess proposed vehicle hardware geometry to ensure it aligns with agreed vehicle geometrical constraints.
  • Guide engineering and design teams to arrive at balanced resolutions to geometric integration issues. 
  • Conduct regular working sessions to review geometric integration of the vehicle and maintain a register of outstanding actions required to support vehicle geometrical integration. 
  • Track and report on relevant GI metrics at the vehicle program level.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS engineering or similar
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a complete vehicle engineering role (packaging, studio engineering, vehicle concept)
  • Solid working knowledge of a 3D CAD system, ideally Catia 3DX, including clearance analysis tools
  • You are curious, fundamentals-oriented, and you question founding assumptions
  • Collaborative mindset, dedication to excellence and thoroughness, clear communication style

Preferred Qualifications
  • MS engineering or similar
  • Experience in the EV or automotive industry
  • Proven track record working successfully in startup or other fast-paced, autonomous environment

  • Lightship compensation consists of the yearly salary above plus equity, which gives you a stake in the company.
